One Morning We'll Wake Up to If Star Wars Took Place Today
An odd tale of a dying freedom
An odd tale of a politically correct Star Wars
One Morning Well Wake Up (villanelle)
As winds carry tale too odd to be true
There are no havens remaining to flee
-
As comfort becomes our minds destiny
And questioning ways world tends to subdue
Perhaps one morning well wake up to see
-
Each days distractions sets all troubles free
Just trust us were sold no need to pursue
There are no havens remaining to flee
-
We build up our lives in shade of false tree
Believing in things that we never knew
Perhaps one morning well wake up to see
-
Confusing how we let this come to be
Here lost in the lines they endlessly spew
There are no havens remaining to flee
-
Now each night we rest in slumbers decree
Mistakes which we made in our tearful view
Perhaps one morning well wake up to see
There are no havens remaining to flee
The loss of liberties is the warning of this villanelle. A villanelle is comprised of five tercets (i.e., a three-line stanza) followed by one quatrain (a stanza with four lines). The first and third lines of the opening tercet are repeated in an alternating pattern as the final line of each next tercet; those two repeated lines then form the final two lines of the entire poem. The rhyme scheme looks like this: A1 b A2 / a b A1 / a b A2 / a b A1 / a b A2 / a b A1 A2.
9/11, four coordinated terrorist attacks by the terrorist group al-Qaeda on the United States on the morning of Tuesday, September 11, 2001. A war of a different kind. A war which we lost. This is my opinion. I am not a believer in the conspiracy theories. I believe al-Qaeda launched this attack to hurt the United States in the long term, not just the death and destruction of that day. America is a capitalist nation. Since the attack, everything has gotten rapidly more expensive. Not good for a capitalistic society. We have/are giving up our liberties, the liberties that so many have died for, for the sake of safety. We are all being watched, listened to, to capture those who might do us harm. I apologies that this section doesn't contain the usual stories that we all like, but the poem is about our present state of affairs. Worse yet, we are told that the millennial generation is getting used to the present state of things.
What can we do? Open our eyes to the situation. Respect all sides if any stance. Our opponent may (or may not) be right, but our idea(s) become better, building on all sides. Try to find avenues where everyone wins. (This may be impossible, but in the search the most are benefited.) Get involved. Let our voice be heard. We may be one person in an ocean, but there are others who believe as we do. Contact our leaders. There are many ways available to us to get in contact. Encourage others to get involved. So few people are involved that each voice represents hundreds. Avoid supporting those who we are working against. Keep in mind that this is a capitalistic society. The best way to get attention is through the pocket book. Know that we can make a difference. Know that a better world is just around the corner. Know that working together we can do so much more. And when we see things are better because of us, Enjoy.

Let's take today's world into the stars
There are no female fighter pilots in the original trilogy of "Star Wars". Even though female fighter pilots were in the original screenplay, they were removed from final cut. This would never be stood for in the 21st century. What other minor changes would have to be made in the "Star Wars" saga? Ryan Higa, of nigahiga, has created a video of a more 21st century correct "Star Wars".
Any similarity in this video and the actual movies was sheer luck. "If Star Wars Took Place Today!"

So long as we have enough people in this country
willing to fight for their rights, we'll be called
a democracy.
