Flower In The Mud to How Tarzan Met Jane
A flower is a reminder of how couple met
A picture is a reminder of how Tarzan and Jane met

Flower In The Mud (English sonnet)

Amid the blackened mud a flower grew
Reminder of a time that couldnt last
A lovers passion burning way too fast
This flower bears the madness they went through
-
Oh flower of such kisses from the past
What feelings fostered fate of lovers two
One wonders now if even they then knew
Speak flower any scent which you may cast
-
A sunny day they say when couple met
To air some darkness brewing in their mind
Resulting in a flower in the mud
-
What followed was a scene of deep regret
As blow by blow soft words became unkind
Resulting in a flower in the blood

A flower, madness, a world unreal unfolds in this English sonnet. As in most English sonnets, this one is broken into two halves. The first half (the quatrains) discusses a strange flower which is a reminder of a romance. The second half (the triplets) discusses what happened to the relationship and the grim conclusion. From the beginning the sonnet is colored with the madness that takes place at the end. The ending is so grim that it effects the entire sonnet.

When Arlene became president of the PTA, we rediscovered our old friends Steve and Molly, Steve and Molly were a couple from our high school to pre-disco days. They were a lot like Arlene and I: mad lovers. I'm not certain what happened, but here the were again... married... with three kids. The oldest was attending our school. Steve and Molly were hard working supporters and volunteers. We got together to catch up on lost years. After about a year Arlene started noticing some bruises on Molly. She found out from Molly that Steve had lost his job. It couldn't have happened at a worse time, financially. Steve turned to alcohol at nights. Arlene and I suspected the worst: Steve was attacking Molly. It all sounds easy for friends to step in and help. First off, Molly would blame her bruises on this and that. What were we to do? We had to do something, for the sake of our conscience. We went to the school principal. There were kids involved.  This led to an investigation. It turned out to be much worse. Unfortunately, this story doesn't have a happy ending, except that everyone is alive.

Life is a wonder, Was it mere coincidence that one couple was brought back into a world of another couple who would help them? There are many, many people willing to help, that are helping (making a positive difference). There are many who do nothing at all. Or so the media would have us believe. We read and hear about the damage being done to our environment. We don't often hear about those working very hard for our Mother Nature. There are many, many working, serving to make a difference, I have seen them. They follow many callings.  My main service was for the youth. There are some people who are willing to help but, for some reason, are held back. The right motivation at the right time and another hope is born. We should all help. We should all give back for this gift of ours. I'm sure we all do (or want to). Life is wonderful. We are wonderful. And as we work for a better tomorrow, Enjoy.

A sad song, in memory of a love: Thao Nguyen Xanh "Sad Romance"

Talk about wonder: Tarzan and Jane come to mind

Tarzan is a fictional character, created by Edgar Rice Burroughs for his 1914 book "Tarzan of the Apes". Tarzan was  an archetypal feral child raised in the African jungle by the Mangani great apes; he later experiences civilization only to largely reject it and return to the wild as a heroic adventurer. As far as meeting his mate Jane, is was nothing even close to a video created by Hannah Stocking.
Since Hannah's video is much shorter than the actual meeting of Tarzan and Jane, let's watch that. "How Tarzan Met Jane | Hannah Stocking & Anwar Jibawi"

There is always some madness in love.
But there is also always some reason in madness.
