I Sit And Watch to Baby Are You Watching
A couple sit and watch the wold from a park bench
A couple sit and watch TV

I Sit And Watch (Italian sonnet)

I sit and watch young lovers passing by
The sweet yet awkwardness in their caress
As angels finding pathways to the sky
They fly upon the edge of happiness
-
I sit and watch the lovers as they kiss
For this they put all other cares aside
In this less lustrous words would be amiss
By this true love forever will abide
-
I sit and watch two lovers face the wind
Which stirs and throws confusion in the air
What wayward hopes will lovers then rescind
How will their flame of passion meet despair
-
I sit and watch as lovers passed this way
Still holding hands beside their memory
I sit and watch this fanciful display
As one of them was you the other me

Something stirs more than a memory in this Italian sonnet. This sonnet uses a trick to build up to its surprise ending. Each quatrain starts with the phrase "I sit and watch two lovers..." This was done to set our minds up. In the fourth quatrain a part of this starts the third line. This has the effect of making us feel the sonnet is speeding up (or at least one more "echo" will happen). Then, on the final line. the surprise hits.

Arlene and my favorite spot was a rock under a willow beside Stow Lake, in Golden Gate Park. We used to enjoy rowing a canoe around the lake. The boat house replaced all the row boats and canoes with paddle boats. They weren't quit the same. This was when our tree took on a deeper meaning. Park bench were always great places to sit and take the weight off of our feet and, of coarse, kiss. About the same time our tree took on its meaning, park beaches became more.  Arlene and I sat, as lovers do, and watched the world go by. Sometimes we let our imaginations go free. One day we went on a family walk with our kids, Peter and Robin. We came upon a bench. Arlene and I sat down as the kids went ahead. In the distance a pair of young lovers appeared. They acted oddly familiar: Like Arlene and I, way back when. Though it's not polite, Arlene and I took it in, every now and again sharing a smile. A wordless acknowledgement that we were together in what was happening. The couple must have caught us looking. They both looked up. It was Arlene and me. Arlene and I looked at each other to reassure ourselves. When we checked what we were seeing, the couple was gone.

(Spoiler Alert! - Do not read unless you require some explanation. If you enjoy magic best not proceed. When a couple reaches middle age, it is not uncommon to notice a younger couple acting as they once did. At the distance Arlene and I were from the young couple, they could have looked like anyone. The couple could have gone into the nearby bushes, while Arlene and I were looking at each other,)

It is a wonderful world we live in. Who is to say what is real and what is "an active imagination"? Way back in 1966 a man, on a TV science fiction, talked into a communicator (on "Star Trek"). Who would have guessed we all would be connected to our cell phones? When I worked at Chevron, my job was to "think outside the box". My greatest accomplishment was suspending three flags in mid air, without any strings. I used a technology that didn't exist five years earlier. (What money can do.) Look at the new tricks magicians are doing now a days. Once we see how the trick is performed, we say , "Of course." At times, even our senses cannot be trusted (optical illusions, for example). Into this world we must challenge ourselves to stay alert. What is real? Then, from time to time, it's okay to enjoy our imagination; as long as we are aware that it is our imagination. Or is it? The things of today. It is a wonder-filled world we live in. What is real? Let's do our best  to stay aware and Enjoy.

In today's world let's talk multitasking

Although the idea that women are better multitaskers than men has been popular in the media as well in conventional thought, there is very little data available to support claims of a real sex difference. Most studies that do show any sex differences tend to find that the differences are small and inconsistent. Here to explore the question is XVP Comedy.
Yes, that is Rick Grimes of "The Walking Dead". "'Babe, ARE YOU WATCHING?!' (A Walking Dead Parody) [SPOILERS]"
