A disaster brings about a phone call
A Drug Enforcement Agency plan turns into a dsiaster

The Call (free form poem)

Yes I heard
Thats why Im callin
How are you holdin up
Im sorry I just found out
I should have called more often
How are the kids takin it
I know I know It must be so confusing
But why didnt you call me when this happened
I know I know

I should be there by tomorrow
-
Hello
Hello
Hello
Hello
Is anyone there

One side of a mysterious phone call makes up this free form poem. I'll be the first to admit this verges on the world of flash fiction. And yet, what is a poem?

This phone call was inspired by a strange story about Tim and Tabitha. Arlene and I met them in college. The bet going around was which would come first: marriage or graduation. It was in my third year when it happened. Tim and Tabitha broke up. What the exact cause was was very unclear. The girl got one story. We guys got another. Arlene and I stayed friends with them both. They both got married shortly after they graduated. But not to each other. About three years latter, Tabitha's husband got a job opportunity in Texas. Their parents threw a big Farewell/Good Luck party. At the party was Tim And his wife. As Arlene and I were off dancing during the disco era, Tim got into parenting. It seems that Tim stayed in touch with Tabitha. When we had dinner or lunch together, Tim would catch us up with the latest news about Tabitha and her family. The same year Arlene and I bought our house, Tim's wife was diagnosed with cancer. After almost a year she died. At her funeral was Tabitha and her husband. Tim was getting back on his feet when Arlene got some dreadful news. Tabitha's husband was killed in a car accident. Tim rushed off to be with her.

End of story No, Tabitha and Tim never remarried; including each other. Tabitha moved back into the Bay Area. The couple became the closest of friends.

Maybe it's just me. It seems that there is an order to life. We have a couple, who weren't meant to marry each other. They built a bond for the harsh times which lay ahead. Then I look at me. The right person for the right time. There were so many things, big and small, that I was the perfect person for. And all that went before to bring me to each moment. Even Arlene. She was brought to a school's PTA at just the right moment when the "old leader" retired. Timing or life? Look at our life. Perhaps there was an (or more) order or purse that seemed so right. Sure, it could be some random events that happened to come together. Or, a door that opened and we took the opportunity of. Even all of these are pretty amazing. Life is amazing. And it's all there for us to Enjoy.

And this all started with a phone call: Free Realms performing Lady Gaga's "Telephone"
