Upon The Verge to The Expert
A different reality meets the streets
A different reality meets the corporate world

Upon The Verge (Italian sonnet)

My life felt so completely rearranged
The walls once tall were crumbling down on me
And all I thought I knew became estranged
Till there was only one place left to flee
-
Then all I needed was a homeless man
Insisting that I buy some news from him
As he now blocked my pathway to the plan
I bought his wares so I could end my swim
-
At last I came to stand upon the verge
Of questions which are best left to unknown
When suddenly was taken by some urge
To read what other people had just sown
-
I read about a man who died today
And all the people which he left behind
The stars put on a beautiful display
While winds across my cheek can be so kind

A man's life is changed by the news of a homeless man in this Italian sonnet. This poem uses the Italian sonnet form to tell a story, If we think something more is going on in the last quatrain, we might be right.

At work, I might have taken on too much. Things weren't going well. Projects were falling behind. People weren't happy. For the first time, what was once pleasure and enjoyment became a job. It was lunch time. I was outside taking a walk. It was a time when every block downtown was occupied by the homeless. Among these were homeless people selling the "Street Sheet" (a newspaper about the plights of the homeless). A homeless man named C J more than aggressively insisted that I buy one of his papers. I did. As I went back to work and throughout that day, I reflected on C J's act, Also my day seemed to go better, The next day, I saw C J again. Whether it was that I knew how he was going to act or how my day improved after I bought a paper from him; I bought another one. My day got better. I shared how my days were getting better with C J, when I saw him the next day. We laughed about it. As the days went on, I associated my good fortune with buying papers from C J. My days had not only returned, they were better than before. Then C J disappeared. I would never see him again.

We could call this magic, Chevron taught a magic of a different kind. It is called the power of positive thinking. In short: Accept only positives. Turn (or translate) all else into a positive. For example: if someone calls me fat. Maybe they want me to know. Maybe they're having a bad day. Being "fat" should not bother us, unless it is our own motivation to lose a few pounds. Not only should accept only positives. we should know and accept that all things can be better. We may be great cooks but how can we improve? If someone complains:Accept the complaint as a gift; An opportunity for improvement. What happened to me was negatives had taken control of my environment, C J and The Street Sheets took my mind and stopped it from feeding the negative energy. Living in the positive takes practice. Think of it this way: There is positive and negative in this world. Where do we invest our energy? The better day is coming. It starts with us. We know it is coming when we Enjoy.

Someone else received a gift: Seether "The Gift"

Let's not be late for an important business meeting

In geometry a line is straight (no curves). It has no thickness and it extends in both directions without end (infinitely). If it does have ends it is called a "Line Segment".
Red is one of the additive primary colors of visible light.
Why is this important to know?
Let's go to a meeting sponsored by Lauris Beinerts and find out. "The Expert (Short Comedy Sketch)"
