Princess Of My Mind to Detective Doctor, At Your Service
A lover is taken away by the madness of a dream
An event is taken away by the madness of names
Princess Of My Mind (sonnet)
Softly she comes to claim my dreams away
Forevers tomorrows wont be the same
As long as moonlight falls within her sway
-
Timelessly glisten princess of my mind
Searching out reasons buried in my heart
Why I dare dream a fate so ill designed
This mad fantasy would tear me apart
-
Patiently christen vessel of my fate
To love a memory which cant come true
The shadows of my tears cant now abate
The realms which formed this wall tween me and you
-
And with a kiss she pardons in the dawn
Silently listen where my love has gone
What is this dream that takes possession of him in this sonnet? This looks like a Shakespearean sonnet. An iambic pentameter is a line of verse with five metrical feet, each foot consisting of one short (or unstressed) syllable followed by one long (or stressed) syllable: for example, And with a kiss she pardons in the dawn. A Shakespearean sonnet is composed of 14 lines of iambic pentameter. Although this fancy contains 14 lines of 10 beats, the lines are not all iambic pentameter.
I recall one (of many) enchanting evenings. Arlene and I went to the Moonraker, in Pacifica. The Moonraker is a seafood restaurant with an unbelievable view of the Pacific. Arlene and I were seated by the window. As we enjoyed our meal we were caught in the spell of the sun kissing the ocean. Or was it Arlene's eyes? The magic of the moment sparked something more in those stars. After dinner, not to loose the moment, we went to Nick's Rockaway. Nick's is a restaurant/bar with live music and dancing, just a short stroll across the street. As luck would have it, the band had a slight Latin flavor. Our favorite flavor on the dance floor. A few dances, a few drinks, the magic deepened. The band knew how to keep us on the dance floor. It was a quiet clear warm night, so Arlene and I decided to take or enchantment under the moon and star lit sky of the shores. As we strolled the music of Nick's was in the breeze, as if to urge us on. A simple dinner turned into so much more. Rather than drive back to the city, we got a room, with a view, at a hotel, there. We were lost in love. I remember the next morning, over coffee, looking at Arlene against the magic of the Pacific Ocean, imaging all the places our love had gone the night before.

(I bet, after reading this story, "...where my love has gone". from the sonnet, takes on new meaning.)
It is a wonderful world. By wonderful, I mean full of admiration, amazement, astonishment, awe,
respect, reverence, veneration; curiosity, interest, surprise... What I am trying to illustrate is this is an unbelievable world, filled with thing like the word "wonder": which means so much more. Is it any wonder no two people see anything alike? Everything we see, feel, experience, take in, reject... everything is seasoned by something else. Something else unique to us. It is a marvel that we can we can communicate at all. This is very important when dealing with others. There is an excellent chance their world is not the same as ours. We have enough of challenge ordering our own life. Listen. Take in what they are expressing. We do not have to accept what is being said to us, but we should listen. Try not to judge the other person. Keep in mind their world may be quite different. The key word is "Listen". Listen to the world all around us. It is indeed a "wonder". We are a wonder. Listen. grow and Enjoy.
Talk about listening, let's listen to this beautiful song: Bandari "Princess of the Moon"
There can be strange wonder in confusion
"Who's on First?" is a comedy routine made famous by Abbott and Costello. The premise of the sketch is that Abbott is identifying the players on a baseball team for Costello, but their names and nicknames can be interpreted as non-responsive answers to Costello's questions. For example, the first baseman is named "Who"; thus, the utterance "Who's on first" is ambiguous between the question ("Which person is the first baseman?") and the answer ("The name of the first baseman is 'Who'").
The folks at Studio C take this concept to a new, more confusing height. "Detective Doctor, At Your Service"
